Warrior Chant September 2024

Message from Superintendent Layton

I want to take time to commend our summer staff on their hard work in getting the campus ready for an excellent start to the school year. We have had a very successful start to the year!

This is a great time of year to remind our parents of the district’s non-negotiables:

1)  We will have a safe school.

The district prioritizes keeping students safe. This sometimes causes inconveniences for parents and visitors, but precautions are necessary to ensure that our students are safe and secure within our buildings.

2)  We will collaborate and work as a team.

We take collective responsibility as a district for the well-being and education of the children in our school. This is too big for any one person, and we know that through collaboration, we can meet the needs of all students.

3)  We will build positive relationships with students and parents.

The importance of positive & healthy relationships cannot be overstated. As James Comer wisely said: “No significant learning can occur without a significant relationship.”

4)  We will serve.

The district recognizes our important role in the community and vows to serve the community and citizens of Glenpool well.

You have seen these non-negotiables come to life as we have developed our strategic plan over the last few years. These principals as well as the objectives of our strategic plan are guiding us in our capital investment projects we will be presenting to the community in the upcoming months.

As always, if you have questions about GPS, please don't hesitate to reach out.
