It is with great enthusiasm and pride that we introduce the newest leader of the Glenpool Warriors Football Program, Coach Payton Werner. As the new Head Football Coach, Coach Werner brings a wealth of experience, a legacy of success, and an unwavering commitment to developing young men of character both on and off the field.
The Warrior Football Program, a cornerstone of Glenpool's proud tradition, boasts two state championships (2002, 2008), two state runner-ups (2003, 2007), and seven semifinalist appearances. With Coach Werner at the helm, we are poised to continue our pursuit of excellence while honoring the rich history of Warrior football.
Coach Werner's Vision
Is to lead a championship-level program that develops young men into high-character husbands, fathers, athletes, and citizens. Coach Werner embodies the values of hard work, integrity, and dedication that align with the Warrior spirit. His mantra of "Faith, Family, Friends, & Football" resonates deeply with our community values.
A Proven Track Record
With 13 years of coaching experience, Coach Werner has demonstrated an exceptional ability to lead and inspire. His accomplishments include:
4 years of coordinating experience, including offensive and special teams coordination.
6 playoff wins and 3 district championships during his tenure at Poteau High School.
Helping lead Southeastern Oklahoma State University to the most wins in DII Oklahoma during his time there.
Extensive experience in recruiting, game planning, and player development at both the high school and collegiate levels.
A Commitment to Excellence
Coach Werner holds a Master's degree in Sport Science with a focus on Athletic Administration and a Bachelor's degree in History. His educational background, combined with his hands-on teaching and coaching experience, positions him to foster both athletic and academic growth in our student-athletes.
A Family-Oriented Leader
Coach Werner is supported by his loving wife, Makayla, and their two daughters, Charlotte and Ellanor. Together, they are excited to become part of the Glenpool family and contribute to our community.
As we welcome Coach Werner to the "Circle of Blue" (C.O.B.), we invite the community to rally behind him and our athletes as they strive for greatness. Together, let us continue the proud tradition of Warrior Football while building an even brighter future.
