Glenpool Schools presents Ann Figart, our Support Employee of the Month for January 2026. Ann's primary position is the High School Media Specialist, but she works with all students and teachers, meeting the needs of others on many levels. She is a great asset not only to our school but also to our community.
A colleague writes, "Ann works very hard to accommodate both teachers and students with their needs. She is a responsible, dedicated employee at our school. She wears many hats. Librarian, Sub when needed, research assistant, M Vento aide to all who need her."

She has subbed for classes during the first weeks of school, which are crucial for establishing routines and procedures. She is always willing to model effective mathematical strategies to new staff and works tirelessly to ensure that our students know that they can all be a "math person."

The Family Support Specialist connects students and their families to local and state resources that can offer assistance. This support helps students navigate out-of-classroom barriers that would affect their success in the classroom. The FSS makes a significant impact for students and their families by offering pathways and support to improve outcomes and increase overall wellbeing.
Some of the Services Provided:
• Assist families in applying for DHS services (SNAP, SSI, SoonerCare, etc.)
• Resources for basic needs (food, clothing, utilities, transportation, etc.)
• Resources/referrals for medical needs (doctors, dentists, mental health, etc.)
• Connecting with at-risk children and families to resolve issues prior to child welfare involvement
• Providing support to families after referrals to child welfare
• Mediation between parents and schools
• Truancy support (problem solving, verifying addresses, home visits, etc.)
• Resources for grandparents, guardians, or siblings raising students
To make a referral, please reach out to your site principal or counselor.

We want to congratulate Mr. Wayne Flud, the district's Facilities Manager, on being unanimously voted the Support Employee of the Month for December 2025. One of our staff wrote, "Wayne has been a valued employee of Glenpool Public Schools for an incredible 38 years. Throughout his career, he has exemplified dedication, professionalism, and a strong commitment to our district's success. Wayne consistently goes above and beyond to ensure that everything runs smoothly. He's always lending a helping hand. His depth of experience, reliability, and positive attitude make him an outstanding role model for his colleagues. Wayne's contributions over nearly four decades have had a lasting impact on our schools, our staff, and the students we serve. Glenpool Public Schools is blessed to have someone with his level of dedication and heart on our team."
Congratulations to Tamera Twist, our Elementary Teacher of the Month for December 2025. Ms. Twist is an ABLE WARRIORS teacher at the elementary. One of her colleagues writes, "She’s very easy to talk to and has always been there with a listening ear and a supportive attitude. Ms. Twist wants the best for her students."

One of her colleagues writes, "Amber puts so much time and effort into her students, continually working to make them the best that they can be. She also works hard at her school and comes up with new ideas to make learning exciting for her students. She truly dedicates her heart and soul to her job and her students."
Glenpool Schools' Winter Choir Concert is Dec 16, 7:00, at the Sports Arena. Choirs from 5th - 12th grades will perform.

If your family needs support to make Christmas memorable for your student(s), we encourage you to sign up immediately. Spots are limited and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
Important Sign-Up Details & Deadline
Deadline: The linked Google Form must be completed by 12:00 PM (noon) on Friday, November 14th. We will not be able to accept applications after this time.
Action Needed: Please fill out the form ASAP to secure a spot for your child(ren) before all opportunities are filled.
Program Guidelines: If you choose to participate, please adhere to the following requirements: Eligibility: Children must be currently enrolled in Glenpool Schools. Siblings of Glenpool Students who are not yet school age may also be included. One Form Per Child: A separate Google Form must be completed for each child under 18 in your household.
Confidentiality Assurance: Please be assured that the names of participating students are kept strictly confidential and are not provided to the Angel Tree Adopters. Adopters receive only the necessary age, size, and wish list information.
