Individual Career and Academic Plans (ICAPs)

Every ninth grade student at Glenpool High School will have an ICAP. Parents and families play an important role in helping children plan for and reach their postsecondary goals.

What is ICAP?

ICAP is an individualized plan that is developed by student and their parents or guardian, in collaboration with school counselors and educators. The ICAP will help students:

  • explore career interests

  • explore postsecondary career and educational opportunities

  • align coursework and curriculum

  • apply to postsecondary institutions

  • secure financial aid, and ultimately

  • enter the workforce or school

Why are we letting parents and families know?

Counselors will meet with ninth grade students to begin the process of building their ICAP portfolio. We will explore interests, careers, colleges, scholarships and more.

How and when will we get started?

Students will establish their login information on the OKCollegeStart website. using their school email, which is used throughout high school so that students will continue to have access to online tools and resources and so that they can receive notices from their counselors and teachers.

Parent will have their own access to the system. We strongly encourage you, as parents, to be part of this process with your student(s).

Each week on Warrior Wednesday, we will have a different group of students begin using the system. For more information regarding your child's career exploration, please email Jennifer Griggs or call at (918) 322-9500 x561.
