Glenpool Alternative Program (GAP)

Glenpool Alternative Program (GAP) was created to serve our area’s high school students who do not thrive in a regular education setting, or students who need extra support through their journey to graduation and beyond. GAP is committed to providing an alternative education program that fosters the growth and success of our students, ensuring they not only graduate, but emerge as resilient, socially adept, and forward-thinking individuals prepared for the challenges of the future.

Our Vision:

We envision a high school experience where every student, regardless of their background or learning style, can thrive academically, emotionally, and socially. We aspire to create an inclusive community where individuality is celebrated, curiosity is nurtured, and the pursuit of excellence is paramount.

Our Mission:

Our mission is to not only improve graduation rates, but to prepare our students for a rapidly evolving world, equipping them with the knowledge, skills, and resilience needed to succeed in college, careers, and life. These areas include (but are not limited to) college/career readiness, personal financial literacy, civic engagement, and home and family management.

Our Core Values:

Student-Centered Learning: We believe in tailoring education to the individual needs and passions of each student, providing a diverse range of teaching techniques, student learning pathways and experiences.

Inclusivity: We are committed to creating an inclusive and equitable environment where diversity is celebrated, and every student feels valued and respected.

Social and Emotional Growth: We prioritize the development of essential social and emotional skills, such as empathy, communication, and self-awareness, to prepare our students for healthy relationships and responsible citizenship.

Innovation: We embrace innovation in teaching and learning, leveraging technology and contemporary teaching methods to foster critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity.

Community Engagement: We encourage active engagement with our local and global communities, promoting a sense of civic responsibility and the importance of making a positive impact on the world.

Future Readiness: We are dedicated to equipping our students with the skills, knowledge, and adaptability needed to thrive in an ever-changing world, emphasizing the importance of lifelong learning, including credit recovery as a means to ensure every student's academic journey continues uninterrupted.
